The Story So Far

September Lessons for Learning

1. Buy first, think later - always applies to tickets for shows / talks you love - like below:

That time I met Mark Manson and tried not to fangirl but failed.

2. Not giving a fuck isn't about not caring. It's focusing your energy on what really matters.

3. Most times, it's difficult to remember what matters. Hence, tattoos... or journals.

4. There's nothing to lose in being honest about how you feel.

5. No matter how much you prepare for the scariest thing, you'll never be ready. Accept that and still, prepare.

6. Smile or laugh through the pain and bawl when you're alone later, texting your closest friends about everything and allowing them to hold space.

8. Have a team - one made of the best people you know, the ones who hold you accountable, who can be honest, who can laugh and feel, sit in silence and let you go through your hurt without saying a word, because they know presence is all that matters.

9. Talk about what hurts.

10. Seeing your partner's ex is by far the most mentally-challenging and awkward thing you'll ever be faced with. While showing up matters even in tough situations, sitting it out is sometimes the smarter, kinder option. Read more about my experience here.

11.  When it's time to move forward, go without fear. You'll step on toes, you'll trip but get up and go.

12. Nature is healing. You should be out there in her glorious, green embrace more often.
